Indian Yoga Paintings

These paintings were commissioned from a group of Indian temple painters working in the Southern Indian City of Mysore.

Mysore is famed not only as an artistic center but also as a place where many of the Indian Yoga Masters based their schools.

The writing on the top of each painting is in Kannada, the local script, and simply means ‘Yoga’.
